Wow! I've been gone since this past Wednesday...that must mean it's the holiday season!
Goodness.
For those of you that don't know, I am in retail management. Which means, I am currently in a deep and serious relationship with my store for the month of December and half of January (aaahhh, clearance sales)!
So, yes I did survive Black Friday and the Saturday and Sunday that followed. Honestly, it's my favorite weekend of the year to work. I started at 5am and was there for the crazy opening. All of us on the management team put in 12-13 hour days and by 5pm the delirium had set in.
Our customers were entertained, mostly because we all broke out in song and were trying to figure out how long we had been at work.
The delerium continued throughout the weekend as well. With the opening of the American Girl Store in the mall a couple of weeks ago we have a huge influx of all sorts of dolls everywhere. And being my talkative self have met many girls and their dolls as well as peeked in a ton of moms shopping bags.
Last night I knew it was time to pack it in for the weekend when I started belting out "Everything I do, I do it for you" in honor of the customer's of course. I was joking, of course, but clearly it was time for to go home.
Meanwhile, on the home front the little leopards were home sick with Grandma. Bless her soul, she brought them into urgent care on Saturday morning and got their presriptions and have been taking care of them all weekend long. Kitten has a double ear infection. Ugh. She doesn't complain about her ears, so we just didn't know. Even the doctor was amazed the she didn't say anything about her ears!
Cub has a sinus infection. As the queen of sinus infections, I know for sure that she is my child. However, it is important to not that she does not have a sinus infection, merely a stuffy nose!
Other than that our Thanksgiving was good, which is saying something considering for most of my life I have considered a generally useless and overrated holiday. The girls are all in Christmas mode and I am just finishing up the Christmas shopping during those few chances I have to escape from my store!
Have a wonderful December all!
